Be good to yourself

I had a day off before the holidays and while i still had a ton to do I decided I needed some time for me. After throwing a load of laundry in, dropping the kids off at school, and going to the post office (hey, I needed to get some things done too), I took a yoga class. Because it was the Friday before Christmas, the morning class was bigger than usual and had an extra cheerful vibe. The instructor, Cindy, told us she would start the class with yin poses and then we would move to sun salutations for the winter solstice. Normally I get antsy in yin poses but I know that this is something my body needs; stillness. Holding those poses really let me get deeper into the poses as well. Use of props also gave me a very supported feeling. The sun salutations were invigorating and I left the class feeling uplifted. I continued my self care getting my nails done and visiting the chiropractor.
When my kids and husband came home from school, the mood was so joyful. A week + off from school. Christmas days away. Joy in my heart. <3
